Upgrade Your Compaq
Mar 6th
Before junking your old computer and purchasing a new one, you can save yourself quite a bit of money by deciding to look into upgrades instead of just buying new. There are a number of components on your computer that you can upgrade that will improve its performance. There are also options available for personalizing your computer’s settings. A skilled computer technician can offer you guidance on upgrading options and inform you on BIOS options, which can alter the settings on your computer and assist you in customizing them.
There are a number of computer upgrades available that will increase the performance of your computer. I owned a Compaq computer that was several years old. First, I looked into finding out if there was a Compaq upgrade that I could purchase to increase my storage capabilities. I found that I could purchase and install an external hard drive that could provide me with more storage space. The next Compaq upgrade that I needed would be one for memory. I found several memory upgrade options for my computer on-line and they were a lot cheaper than I thought that they would be. The final Compaq upgrade that I was looking for was a processor so that my games and other applications could run faster. I had to have this upgrade done by a professional, but it was well worth the cost.
I asked the computer technician if it were possible to alter my Compaq BIOS and to change some of the settings originally installed on the computer. He informed me that it is difficult to alter a Compaq BIOS and that only trained technicians have the resources available to perform this operation since they are permanently burned into your computer’s ROM chip. He also went over some Compaq BIOS beep codes and outlined what they meant incase my computer performed any of these beeps when I was starting it up.
I was very happy that I decided to take advantage of these upgrades instead of spending a ton of money on a new computer. The upgrades were relatively cheap and I learned a lot about my computer and its applications in the process. I would recommend looking into upgrading options for your existing computer before purchasing new. But don’t wait until your computer stops functioning before looking into upgrading. If your computer’s performance begins to decline, ask a technician for advice on improving its operation.
Fire the Phone Company
Feb 23rd
Many Southern California businesses know how important broadband internet can be in improving employee productivity: it was the advent and arrival of the internet and computers as a real phenomenon in the mid 90’s that we can attribute so much of America’s growth. For savvy area business owners and operators, Los Angeles DSL has made doing business easier, faster, and less expensive. Yet many have gone beyond the broadband capacity provided by technologies like DSL in order to leverage opportunities to transmit voice for pennies per hour, rather than the high cost of traditional phone service from a local phone carrier.
Los Angeles business VOIP is technology that companies implement to make phone calls over their broadband internet infrastructure, virtually eliminating a need for the phone company, which may still play a role where line maintenance fees are required for incoming calls. By using already existing bandwidth in the form of their existing Los Angeles DSL platforms, businesses have found a way to save thousands – even tens of thousands of dollars per year on expensive phone service.
The phone company has often criticized VOIP in the past because digital transmission made voices sound more tinny and less lifelike. These days, however, digital network phones are equipped with technology that enriches sound and transmits it more clearly than the phone’s antiquated analog infrastructure. What’s more, most Los Angeles business VOIP phone systems are as full-featured (if not loaded with more bells and whistles) as their conventional counterparts, including caller ID, voicemail, call forwarding, three-way calling, and tons more calling features that are useful in any office environment.
Since pricing for VOIP service is usually a flat monthly fee, the savings businesses realize by making the switch is a total function of how much they use the phone. Users that make their living on the phone – salespeople or customer service people, for example – will realize drastically lower overhead costs putting literally tremendous sums of money back into the businesses coiffeurs to use for other things: for instance, hiring more salespeople.
Being able to increase the quality of office infrastructure while reducing ingrained overhead costs is any cost cutter’s dream. By harnessing the power of VOIP and DSL and tandem, small and medium-sized businesses alike will realize great savings and improved telephone service.
